THE Democratic People’s Congress, DPC, has sounded a note of warning to big political parties in Anambra State, namely All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, to forget about winning the forthcoming governorship election of November 18, 2017 because they have all made mistakes in the choice of their candidates, and will be disappointed with the outcome of the result.
Anambra State Chairman of DPC, Prince Ojiewulu Ifejike, gave the warning during the delegate election of the party where Nollywood star, Chief Yul Chibuike Edochie, was elected as the standard bearer of the party for the November 18, 2017 Anambra State governorship election.
Prince Ifejika said that the people of Anambra State were wiser now and would use personal character over party saying that was the reason the party’s candidate was exuding much confidence.
“We have elected Chief Yul Edochie as our candidate. He is not only known in Anambra State, but Nigeria and the world in general. Everybody knows where he is coming from, there is nobody that does not know his father, Chief Pete Edochie, in the entertainment industry, especially in Nollywood industry. He is the type of person the people of the state want as their governor. The party he is contesting from is immaterial, what matters is his person and what he has been able to do in Nigeria and what he will do for the state. Luckily for us the people have accepted his candidacy.
“Our party will soon take over Anambra State Government House because the choices the big parties made in their choice of candidates has made the work of winning the governorship election in the state easy for us in DPC. The so called big political parties have all goofed in the choice of their candidates. There is complaint in APGA, they are not in unity. The crisis in PDP that has lasted for some years has been aggravated with the choice of its candidate as the faithful are claiming he was imposed on them.”
While questioning the propriety of the emergence of the APC candidate, he said: “So the battle is for individuals who are good and have no god fathers, but self made youths who have made name for themselves and our candidate is one of them if not the best. We were so elated when our candidate told the party faithful that his campaign slogan is ‘The last bus stop’ that the people of the state are tired of clueless and direction less administration that does not have anything to offer .”
