Frances Loch (née Abbott) has made her triumphant return to bikini modelling, after previously admitting to being unprepared during her earlier competitions.

On Saturday, the 26-year-old daughter of former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, 60, competed at the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion (WBFF) Sydney 2018 competition at Westfield Shopping Centre, Chatswood.

The newlywed personal trainer showcased her reworked physique, ten months after she stunned Australia with her ripped frame at the iCompete National (ICN) Victoria State Titles, despite placing last.

Riding high of her surprise Valentine’s Day wedding to weightlifter Sam Loch – who was seen sitting in the audience on Saturday – Frances beamed with confidence.

Frances competed in two categories, and despite appearing to be in peak physical form, she was unable to claim a win or top-three finish in either.

Her first ensemble comprised of a sequined silver and black G-string bikini with a black silk cape affixed to the back of her bikini top’s closure, and gold stiletto heels.

She wore several pieces of gold jewellery, including multiple tight necklaces, large hoop earrings and an Ancient Greek Goddess-inspired fern headpiece.

The stadium announcer introduced her as ‘Frances Loch’ and a badge with entrant number 512 was clipped to her bikini briefs.

Frances offered various bodybuilding poses and pouts as she entered from Upstage, centre, before walking a straight line Downstage.

The majority of poses involved twirling her silk cape, or turning around to show off her backside or side-profile.

At one point she slowly ran a hand down her back, stopping just above her bikini briefs, before turning and exiting the stage.

Frances later returned in just the bikini – without the cape or jewellery – and had switched her gold heels for black.

She documented her day via Instagram, but did not share an update on her competition results.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to WBFF and Frances for comment.

In February, just days before her wedding, Frances took to Facebook to detail her struggles to adjust to the rigorous demands of the sport.

‘The effects of getting on stage still linger even though the show has long been over.

‘I knew the comedown was going to be challenging but I didn’t expect it to be what it was.’

Frances confessed that while she ‘thought I would be able to beat it or brush it off’, she was ‘kidding herself’:

‘I didn’t trust the process, I tried to fight it (kicking and screaming… no joke) and ended up in a bit of a pickle,’ she elaborated – but cryptically.

‘What I know now is that I could have done it better, not in terms of getting a better result from the judges, but in having a better approach for my mental and physical health.’

Frances competed in both the ‘sports model’ category of the ICN Victorian State Titles, which attracted more than 700 competitors in both the novice and elite categories, and the ‘first timer’ bikini fitness model division.

She placed last, but at the time drew many positives from her debut bodybuilding experience.

On Valentine’s Day, Frances married dual Olympian, rower and weightlifter Sam in a surprise ceremony.

In November, Sam spontaneously popped the question to Frances after the pair had been dating for just two weeks. She was putting a bag of frozen peas into the freezer at the time.

‘The celebratory component isn’t for a couple of months, but we made it official in the eyes of the law today,’ he posted to Instagram with a picture of the two showing off their wedding bands on Wednesday February 14.

'What I know now is that I could have done it better, not in terms of getting a better result from the judges, but in having a better approach for my mental and physical health' she wrote in the post. Frances competed in her first competition in September's ICN Victorian State Titles, finishing last despite impressing Australia with her flawless physique

‘We’re the motherf***ing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers of love.’

The ‘celebratory component’ took the form of a romantic ceremony on the sands of Sydney’s northern beaches on April 28.

Both Tony and his wife Margie, 60, were in attendance, as were the couple’s other daughters: Louise and Bridget.
