Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has splashed out £25,000 on a painting of himself by talented British artist Endless.

The Spanish full-back was photographed collecting the unique portrait of himself in his secret central London man-cave on Thursday.

The stylish footballer asked Endless to create the piece after being introduced and photographed with him, alongside team-mate Alex Iwobi, at his solo exhibition in Kensington in August last year.

The striking artwork forms part of Endless’s new Deities collection, a series of paintings showcasing the contrast between old and modern day symbols of worship.

Bellerin is shown against a backdrop of Augsburg Cathedral’s window arches whilst sporting a halo over his head with Endless’s ‘Chapel’ logo , a nod to the increasing influence brands, and the new-age icons wearing them, possess over society today.

‘In my opinion Endless is one of the best and coolest British artists out there today,’ Bellerin said, as he received the paintings in his man-cave, which also showcases a number of foobtall and basketball jerseys.

‘His work appears bold and raw on the face of it, but when you look closely each piece contains a powerful message about worship in the world today.

‘With my interest in fashion and culture, his art speaks to me on many levels, and that’s why I commissioned this piece. I am glad to have finally received my artwork and am humbled Endless is going to feature it as part of his Deities collection.’

Mysterious artist Endless was pleased with his work, saying: ‘I was very interested when Hector came to me with this commission.

‘His position as a professional footballer and fashion status symbol means he is the perfect balance between the various things people worship today.’
