Jonathan Rhys Meyers was detained by police on Sunday night after he allegedly got into a drunken fight with his wife and started using his e-cigarette on an American Airlines flight.
The 40-year-old actor was flying from Miami to Los Angeles with his wife Mara and their one-year-old son when the mid-flight altercation occurred, TMZ reports.
He allegedly started verbally abusing his actress and producer wife during the profanity-laden argument.

The fight is said to have upset other passengers.
Sources said the Bend It Like Beckham star, who is a recovering alcoholic and has been to rehab multiple times, had been drinking at the time.
At one point, Meyers allegedly also went to the bathroom to smoke his e-cigarette but was told by a flight attendant that he couldn’t do so.
LAX Airport police detained the actor on the tarmac when the flight landed.
Passengers said they were stuck on the plane for more than an hour as a result with multiple police vehicles surrounding the aircraft.
Meyers denied using his e-cigarette, which is a federal violation and can result in a fine of up to $4,000.
Law enforcement sources said LAX officers notified the FBI but they chose not to respond so Meyers was released.

The couple, who have a one-year-old son named Wolf, revealed in September last year that they had suffered a miscarriage with their second child.
They revealed the heartbreaking news on social media, saying their baby, Willow, has been laid to rest under a tree at their home.
In a lengthy Instagram post at the time, Mara said her husband had taken the news particularly hard.
‘Depression is a real concern from past abuse as well as alcoholism which he was born with. He has been able to turn any ugliness and hurt in his life into art and is the strongest person I know. I do not know anyone who has been through what he has been through and reached his level of successes,’ Mara said of the actor.
Meyers has suffered a long-term battle with alcoholism and has been in and out of rehab over the years.
He checked into a Malibu facility in 2005 and 2007 before returning for a third time in 2009.
Meyers publicly apologized to his fans in 2015 for a ‘minor relapse’ after pictures surfaced of him on a street drinking straight from a bottle of vodka.
