In March, Lisa McMerrin, 46, suffered a heart attack just weeks before she was due to take her two young daughters, Isabella, 10 and Sophie, 8, to the Katy Perry concert they’d looked forward to all year.

The girls are Katy’s biggest fans and had been gifted a ticket to the 33-year-old pop star’s Witness: The Tour concert at Perth Arena on Tuesday by their father, Jason, 41, but feared they’d not make it.

Instead they did even better – they met Katy in person at Perth Airport when the singer pulled over her van especially to greet the delighted sisters.

‘My husband surprised the girls with tickets to the concert over a year ago. They both love to sing to Katy Perry on a daily basis and love her so much,’  Lisa told Daily Mail Australia elusively.

‘In March I suffered a sudden heart attack at only 46 years of age. I didn’t know if we would still be able to make it to the concert. The girls were counting down too,’ she explained.

Lisa suffered a rare Spontaneous Coronary Artery Disection (SCAD) which she says was a ‘huge shock for us all’.

On Monday, the mother of two had recovered enough to take the girls on the six hour drive from Denmark, a coastal town with a population of just 2,500 residents, to Perth, Western Australia, in the hopes of seeing Katy as she flew in to the state.

After a long drive and two hours wait, the girls spotted the Firework singer getting into a black van and began jumping up and down in glee while waving frantically.

‘We thought the car was just going to travel past, but all of a sudden it stopped. We heard a voice say “stop!” and a male got out and asked if we would like to meet Katy,’ the girl’s mum, Lisa reveals.

‘My girls were speechless with excitement and raced around and the door opened and there she was!’ Lisa, a bank officer, continues. ‘I asked if it was okay to take photos and without a question she pulled the girls in for a huge hug’.

‘They cried. They couldn’t believe it. They had both Jase I in tears. Can you imagine what these two little girls have been through since March with my major health scare. This was the reward they needed just for them,’ she says.

Isabella and Sophie are now excited for Katy’s concert on Tuesday night but Lisa says that for the whole family, ‘It’s been a dream come true’.

Lisa added: ‘[After my heart attack] you can understand how lucky I feel to be able to share this special moment with my girls’.
