If you scroll through the pages of any Instagram star, their sumptuous feeds are often filled with envy-inducing bikini pictures.
But Sydney nutritionist Lyndi Cohen has revealed how easy it is to create a deceptive before-and-after photograph by taking two different snaps just seconds apart.
The 28-year-old wanted to encourage women to embrace the ‘deleted’ pictures that never get uploaded because of insecurities.
Here, the fitness blogger, otherwise known as The Nude Nutritionist, demonstrated the dramatic difference factors like posture and lighting can make to her physique.

‘Just a quick example of how your social media feed can feature the highlights reel instead of real life. Photos taken moments apart,’ she said.
‘Take note when you see photos on social media and spare a moment for all the photos that never made it to the feed.
‘I love my body equally in both photos (guys, it’s so cool to be able to say that!) and I think this is part because I’m taking control of my Instagram feed.’
In a bid to promote body confidence among young women, Lyndi shared her simple steps to ‘control your social media feed’.
‘So that what you subscribe to boosts your confident and helps you realise that you are worthy, and good enough, instead of tearing you down,’ she explained.
‘From now on… and over the next few weeks, Instagram are rolling out some changes from allowing you to see how long you spend scrolling (and get reminded when it’s been to long) to letting you control who comments on your posts to prevent body bullies… or just normal kinda bullies.
‘You know that I recommend you unsubscribe to anyone whose feed does not inspire you. Because it works. Take control of your feed. And given than its #loveyourbodyweek, its the perfect time to do this. I so loved speaking alongside.’

Her latest social media post comes just months after Lyndi revealed why the ‘extra layer of fat’ on your tummy can actually be good for you.

But eventually, the fitness blogger, otherwise known as The Nude Nutritionist, said she learned to embrace her curves after realising how body fat played a key role.
‘I have an extra layer of fat that sits on my muscles. Every time I try to lose it, my body resists. It’s a struggle,’ she said on Instagram.
‘For years, I tried to lose that weight with diet after diet. Eventually, I have realised that there’s actually nothing wrong with my body or my metabolism.
‘And that maybe – I’m just not meant to lose that ‘extra’ weight.’
Lyndi – who previously shed 20kg in an astonishing body transformation – proudly explained how having ‘extra weight’ helps keep her fit and healthy.
‘This ‘extra’ weight is what keeps my hormones balanced, my mood stable and energy high,’ Lyndi explained.
‘This ‘extra’ weight means I can regulate my temperature easily and sit comfortably thanks to it’s cushiness.

‘This so-called ‘extra’ layer is what keeps me warm at night so I can fall asleep easily. It keeps me going when I get hungry.
‘It’s what will protect me if I ever get sick. So it seems this ‘extra’ weight is not a burden (like I thought), but a security blanket. My body is not broken.’
‘My body loved me before I ever loved it and never wanted me to lose this lovely layer. While this extra fat means I’ll never have a six-pack, it’s a small price to pay to have an energetic, healthy body.’
She spoke fondly about loving her natural body shape in an effort to promote body positive.
‘Accepting my natural body shape and my healthy weight has been one of the healthiest things I’ve done for myself,’ she said.
‘I’ve realise that this is my natural healthy weight, and I’m not longer willing to fight against it just to fit into people’s idea of what a conventional healthy body looks like.
‘This is what a healthy body looks like for me. And I love my layers.’
After struggling with her fluctuating weight for a decade, Lyndi managed to lose 20 kilos in four years – and now she feels confident with herself more than ever
Earlier this year, Lyndi opened up about how her obsession with losing weight turned into her an emotional eater.
‘I would eat as little as I could and exercise multiple hours in the day,’ she previously told Daily Mail Australia.
‘By the time I’d come home, my willpower was depleted and I would binge eat everything in the pantry. I’d feel guilty of what I ate but the cycle repeated itself everyday.’
The dietitian said despite shedding kilos, she would still find a flaw to ‘hate’ about herself.
‘When I was obsessed with losing weight, it didn’t matter how skinny I got, I still found things to hate about my body,’ she recalled.
‘But I got to a point where I didn’t want to live like that anymore.’
Speaking out, Lyndi said she wanted to break the stigma surrounding ‘healthy’ bodies on social media after she felt the constant pressure to lose weight.
‘I feel as though when you think of ‘healthy’ influencers, you think of girls with the perfect bodies and they don’t have much fat – I don’t think that’s what health looks like,’ she said.
‘Often girls are exposed to the images they see in healthy magazines – and it narrows the stereotypes of what healthy looks like.
‘I want people to know that health comes in all shapes and sizes and you don’t need to be a certain height or have a toned body to have the ‘healthy body’.
‘I want to change the definition of what health looks like and you don’t need to look like a model to be healthy.’

‘Now I’m at a comfortable weight after I decided to love my body – and I no longer struggle with the bad image days as often,’ she said.
