On Sunday November 11th, Argentina will attempt to break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD, by making “The most pizzas prepared in 12 hours (by a team)”
ITALY is the actual record holder with 10.065 pizzas made in 12 hours in Rome in June 13th, 2017.
Appyce (Association of Owners of Pizza Houses, Empanada Houses and Related Activities) will be leading this challenge as well as attempting a second GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the “Most empanadas served in 8 hours”

The finished pizzas and empanadas will be donated to A.S.D.R.A (Down Syndrome Association of the Argentine Republic), and to the Leandro Olmos Foundation. Both NGOs will be selling vouchers for pizzas and empanadas to the assisting public the day of the event.
Because the rate of food production will exceed demand for the vouchers, all surplus products will be given to 30 to 40 other previously designated NGOs free of charge.
Through this challenge, will be supporting us that day the Federation of Pastry Workers and Pizza Makers of the Argentine Republic, along with a program of the city government of Buenos Aires called “BA Capital Gastronómica”, which is seeking to establish the city of Buenos Aires as Latin America´s gastronomy capital by boosting the development of gastronomy through employment and tourism,.
This event will require 2,750 kg of mozzarella cheese, 3,000 kg of flour, 1,080 kg of ham, 220 liters of olive oil, 88,000 olives, 2,000 liters of water, 1,100 liters of tomato sauce, 11,000 pizza boxes, 916 empanada boxes, plus utensils and ingredients that will be donated by the following companies: Harina 5 Stagioni, Productos lácteos La Farfalla, salsa de tomate Gentleman, Hornos Poyin, and Café A Los Chinos, among others.
HOW THIS WILL BE ACHIEVED
Around 400 pizza professionals will be participating in this event rotating in 1.5-hour shifts, as well as 25 staff members for organization and logistics. Additionally, 60 to 80 members of the NGOs being benefitted will also participate.
WHEN AND WHERE
This event will take place on Sunday, November 11th in the City of Buenos Aires, at Diagonal Norte and the Obelisk (between Carlos Pellegrini Street and Esmeralda/Peron). This will be a massive event for the whole family to enjoy from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
