Violent road rage incident unfolds in broad daylight at a busy intersection – as feuding drivers hold up traffic as they exchange brutal blows

  • A violent brawl between two men unfolded at a suburban intersection on Sunday
  • Footage of the incident appeared to show one man pinning the other to the road 
  • The larger man then threw the other to the tarmac and aimed multiple punches   
  • The daylight altercation took place in Middle Swan, eastern Perth at about 11am

Other road users in Middle Swan in Perth’s eastern suburbs watched on as two men traded blows in the middle of traffic at about 11am on Sunday morning.

Footage of the incident appeared to show one man pinning the other to the road before throwing him to the floor and repeatedly throwing punches. 

The fracas, which ended with the two men appearing to exchange words, only ended after onlookers intervened to break up the fight.

The incident blocked an entire lane of traffic for several minutes as the two men grappled with each other at a red light.

Midland Police said they were looking for assistance in relation to the incident – which occurred on the junction of Roe Highway and Toodyay Road.

Commenters on social media were stunned by the seemingly excessive display of force carried out in broad daylight.

‘Love to know what started this. Life is too short to lose your temper over nothing,’ one person wrote.

‘Totally disgusting – where are some people’s manners. Hope the police deal with it,’ another said. 

Others called for the pair’s licenses to be suspended, with one saying it was ‘obvious they don’t have the maturity to hold one’.
