A mother-of-two revealed how she paid £8,000 to reduce her breasts from a size 32JJ to a 34G.
Dawn McGuire, 47, of Ainsworth, Manchester, had suffered chronic back and shoulder pain since she was a teenager and hated the way her breasts looked, describing them as ‘spaniel ears’.
After she failed to qualify for breast reduction surgery on the NHS, her husband Steve, 56, a maintenance handyman, offered to pay the £8,000 needed to have the operation done privately.

After: Mrs McGuire’s breasts were reduced from a 32JJ to a 34G (pictured in June this year after recovering from the surgery). She said they had gone from ‘spaniel ears’ to ‘puppies’
Mrs McGuire, a sales assistant, said of the life-changing operation: ‘I hated my “spaniel ears” but now I love my “puppies”.
‘I have my confidence and health back and for that I will always be grateful to my husband for helping me be a happier version of myself.’
Mrs McGuire told how her large breasts had caused health problems since she was 18 years old.
She said: ‘My chest size would impact my job, and see me need weeks at a time off work because lifting the stock onto the shop shelves put me in so much back pain that I was unable to walk.

‘The GP even put me on morphine after other painkillers and codeine didn’t help. I had physio and lost 2st, but nothing stopped the pain my large breasts caused me.’
Her figure also meant she struggled to find stylish clothes that fit and she often bought a size 18, even though she was a size 12, so there was enough fabric for her breasts.
She said: ‘It used to take me three hours to get ready as I could never find clothes I was comfortable in.
‘I would always cover my boobs and hide away, and never took pictures of myself.’
Mrs McGuire said she knew going under the knife was the only way to improve her life and began looking into private treatment after her GP failed to refer her for the operation.

Renewed confidence: The mother-of-two said she feels sexier with her size 34G breasts, pictured. She is also able to join in on more activities with her children
In July 2017 Mrs McGuire went for her first consultation with surgeon Gary Ross and three months later went under the knife at the private BMI Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
The mother told how her back pain has ‘disappeared’ in the year since the operation and she now enjoys going to the gym, bowling with her children and wearing more fashionable clothes.
She added: ‘Now after the surgery I’m happy, confident and feel sexy. My children are thrilled that I can join in activities with them rather than just watching from the side-lines.’
Mrs McGuire told how the operation has also transformed her relationship with her husband.
‘We’ve always had an amazing intimate relationship but I would get embarrassed about my body, and now I feel sexier than ever,’ she said.
‘This breast reduction has been life-changing not just for myself but for my family.
‘I’ll never be able to repay my husband’s kindness for what he’s done for me.’
