It is a very old saying that blood is thicker than water. The supposed love burning between mother and child is hot enough to make hell feel like winter. The looms of nature have spinning for the nine months the child spends in its mother's womb, hence the child is inseparably woven to his mother. Thus there are some horrors that are maternally unconstitutional.
Such horrors like a 31-year-old woman who allegedly abandoned her day-old-baby on the street in lagos state. Luckily the lady in question was arrested. Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni, on Thursday disclosed that the Police apprehended the lady who allegedly forsook her day-old-baby on the street. Owoseni, who revealed the name of the suspect as Ifunayan Eme, an indigene of Enugu State, remarked her arrest was made on Tuesday during the Eid-el-Kabir holiday.
The Lagos state commissioner of police commented that the woman allegedly gave birth to the baby girl at No. 1, Prince Bello Street, Ajagbandi in Ojo Local Development Area Council of the state. According to him, the suspect had maliciously wrapped the baby and abandoned it on the street. But then the police caught up with her following investigations.
“The baby is now in the Police Cottage Hospital located at Ikeja Police College for proper care. “We are trying to reach A government agency that would rehabilitate the woman,’’ he said. Speaking to newsmenthe suspect claimed she abandoned the baby because of hardships.
Eme, who according to her claims is be married with three children prior to this incidence, gave further details that she parted ways with her husband, but then took in pregnant for a different man who refused to accept responsibility for the child. However she said she had dumped the baby at the gate of her residence following the birth of the baby by about 1 a.m., but then that her neighbours had quickly call on the police.
“After I gave birth to the baby in the public toilet in our house, I wrapped the baby with a bag and dropped her outside our gate and went inside to sleep. “I never thought of checking my baby again. I just wanted someone to find her and take her nothing more,’’ she said.
This is terrible. A mother is the child's first deity, the baby's biological armory. The mother's chest is nature's napkin for the crying baby and the tough economic situation of the nation is not enough vindication to desert motherhood,
So far the dollar has been rising in giant strides…
